Jhitang Steve Chen, Ph.D., Chairman, President and CEO

Dr. Chen has more than 30 years of management experience in the United States and Taiwan, he has served as the chairman for a venture capital company and the general manager of an IC design company in Hsinchu Science Industrial Park. Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. He is Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by APICS, specializing in company operations and system management.



Chris (Ching Liang) Fan, Ph.D. Founder and Board Director

Dr. Fan serves as a member of Wyntek’s Board Directors. Prior to his retirement, he served as Chairman, President and CEO of the Wyntek Group. Dr. Fan co-founded two successful biotech companies in the U.S. and served as the Chief Executive Officer - Pacific Biotech (1982) and Wyntek Diagnostics (1994). Pacific Biotech was acquired by Eli Lilly and Company in 1990, and Wyntek Diagnostics was sold to Genzyme Corporation in 2001.

Dr. Fan was awarded “Entrepreneur of the Year” in 1988 sponsored by Arthur Young and Venture Magazine. In 1999, he was named “Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Asian Business Association of San Diego. Dr. Fan received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Purdue University in 1973 and his B.S. in Chemistry from National Taiwan University in 1968. 



Shu Cheng, M.S. Founder and Board Director

Shu Cheng currently serves as a member of Wyntek’s Board Directors. Prior to her retirement, she served as Executive Vice President and COO of Wyntek and was responsible for all operations of the company, including regulatory, quality assurance and manufacturing. She was also President and CEO of Wynlife. Prior to Wyntek, Ms. Cheng co-founded Pacific Biotech (1982) and Wyntek Diagnostics (1994) and served as Vice President of Operations for both companies. Before joining the healthcare industry, Ms. Cheng held research positions at the University of California, San Diego and University of Wisconsin in Madison. Ms. Cheng received her B.S. in Physics from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan and her M.S. in Physiology from University of Wisconsin in Madison.



Ming-Shian Wu, Ph.D. Founder and Board Director

Dr. Wu has served as a member of Wyntek’s Board Directors since the inception. Prior to his retirement, he served as Executive Vice President and CFO of Wyntek. He also was Director and Treasurer of Wynlife and responsible for financial affairs and administration of the company. Dr. Wu also co-founded Pacific Biotech (1982) and Wyntek Diagnostics (1994) and served as Vice President and CFO for both companies. Dr. Wu received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1964 and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from University of Missouri at Rolla in 1973.



Jerry Lu, Ph.D. Board Supervisor

Dr. Lu has been a member of Wyntek’s Board Directors since June 2006. Starting from February 2017, he was nominated and currently serving as Supervisor of the Board committee for Wyntek. Since 1985, Dr. Lu has served as Chairman and President of Bonny MT Enterprises Co., a wholesale company located in Orange County, California. Previously, he was Supervisor and Senior Nuclear Engineer for Nuclear Power Companies. Dr. Lu received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Iowa State University in Ames, and his M.S. and B.S. from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan.



Phoebe Shen Board Director

Phoebe Shen is currently a member of Wyntek’s Board Directors. She also serves as Chief Financial Officer of the Wyntek Group and is responsible for Global Finance as well as supervising the operation of all Wynlife offices. As the General Manager of Wynlife Healthcare, Inc., Taiwan, she is also in charge of expanding the direct selling market, business development, and daily operations in Taiwan. Ms. Shen joined Wynlife Healthcare, Inc. in 2006 and has successfully managed areas of Operations, Sales Support and Marketing. She was later transferred to Japan to assist in developing and expanding the direct selling market in Japan. Ms. Shen received her B.S. degree in Structural Engineering from University of California, San Diego.



Hsien-Yeh Hsu, Ph.D. Board Director

Dr. Hsu is currently a member of Wyntek’s Board Directors. Dr. Hsu specializes in the fields of anti-tumor herbal medicine, cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, and applied biotechnology. He also is one of the inventors for Wyntek’s reishi polysaccharides and cordycep patents. In 2020, Dr. Hsu retired from his role as the Professor in the Institute of Biotechnology in Medicine and the Adjunct Professor in the Institute of Biophotonics Engineering at National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan. He received his B.S. in Agriculture Chemistry from National Taiwan University and his Ph.D. in Biology and Life Sciences from Cornell University.
